claudebooks is a private, internal tool built and operated by Great South Land Design Pty Ltd (ABN 62 665 115 355). It is not offered to the public, not listed on the QuickBooks App Store, and is not available for any other business to connect.
What it connects to
claudebooks connects to one QuickBooks Online company file: our own. We use it to read our own accounting records so we can check what we have invoiced our clients and reconcile that against our internal job records.
We do not connect claudebooks to any client's QuickBooks company, and we have no mechanism for anyone outside our company to authorise it.
What data it reads
Through the QuickBooks Online Accounting API, claudebooks reads:
- Invoices we have issued, including line items, amounts, dates and status
- Customer records for the clients we invoice, being business name, contact name, email, phone and billing address
- Payment records against those invoices
Those customers are our own clients. The data is already ours and already held in our QuickBooks company.
What it does not do
claudebooks does not write to, alter or delete anything in QuickBooks. It is read only. It does not read payroll, employee, banking or tax records. It does not connect to any accounting system other than our own.
Where the data goes
Data read through claudebooks stays on Great South Land Design equipment and in our own private repositories. It is not published, not shared with third parties, not sold, and not used for advertising or analytics. We do not send it to any external service.
Who can see it
Only Great South Land Design staff working on our billing. That is currently the company director and our accounts manager.
How long we keep it
Only as long as we need it for the billing check being run. Our permanent record of what we have invoiced lives in QuickBooks itself, not in claudebooks.
Security
Access is via OAuth 2.0. The credentials are held in the macOS Keychain on company equipment, never in code, never in a shared document and never in a repository. Access can be revoked at any time from the QuickBooks admin settings, which immediately stops all access.
Changes
If we change how claudebooks uses data we will update this page and the date at the top.
